Quotes on the Atonement:

I chose this quote because we know that life is not easy and neither is repentance.  It takes effort on our part.
"No pain will last forever. It is not easy, but life was never meant to be either easy or fair. Repentance and the lasting hope that forgiveness brings will always be worth the effort". (Elder Boyd K. Packer, And a Little Child Shall Lead Them, General Conference, April 2012,http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/04/and-a-little-child-shall-lead-them?lang=eng&query=no+pain+will+last+foreve  )

Jesus gave the ultimate sacrifice and I can make sacrifices in my life as well.
"Jesus also commands each of us to love and serve one another—in effect, to offer a small imitation of His own sacrifice by making sacrifices of our own time and selfish priorities". ( Elder Dallin H.Oaks, Sacrifice, General Conference, April 2012)http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/04/sacrifice?lang=eng

I need to make sure that my desires are righteous.

"Desires dictate our priorities, priorities shape our choices, and choices determine our actions. The desires we act on determine our changing, our achieving, and our becoming". (Elder Dallin H. Oaks, Desire, General Conference, April 2011) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2011/04/desire?lang=eng

Desires lead to choices. Choosing righteous desires will allow for less repentance.

“When people are described as ‘having lost their desire for sin,’ it is they, and they only, who deliberately decided to lose those wrong desires by being willing to ‘give away all [their] sins’ in order to know God.” (Elder Neal A. Maxwell, According to The Desires of our Hearts, Ensign, November 1996) http://www.lds.org/ensign/1996/11/according-to-the-desire-of-our-hearts?lang=en

Repentance will help me to become more Christlike.

"God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, but we are not. Each day, ours is the challenge to access the power of the Atonement so that we can truly change, become more Christlike, and qualify for the gift of exaltation and live eternally with God, Jesus Christ, and our families. For these powers, privileges, and gospel gifts, thanks be to God"! (Elder Russell M. Nelson, Thanks be to God, General Conference, April 2012) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/04/thanks-be-to-god?lang=eng

I chose this quote because I cannot have tolerance for sin.
“We must recognize that there is a difference between tolerance and tolerate. Your gracious tolerance for an individual does not grant him or her license to do wrong, nor does your tolerance obligate you to tolerate his or her misdeed”. (Elder Russell M.Nelson, What is Tolerance?, New Era, March 2011) http://www.lds.org/liahona/2011/03/what-is-tolerance?lang=eng

Realizing that we are on the wrong path or transgressing is the first step of repentance.

"If I were going the wrong way in the middle of a marathon, and I realized my mistake, would I keep going? I would immediately turn around! . . . I wouldn't stay on the wrong course because no matter how long I ran there, I would never reach the finish line. And yet for many who have made a moral mistake, a little voice keeps saying: 'You blew it. You can't change. No one will ever know anyway.' To you I would say, Don't believe it. 'Satan wants you to think that you cannot repent, but that is absolutely not true. (Elaine S. Dalton, You Can Return, New Era 2010)

The Atonement is my strength in life.

"The enabling power of the Atonement strengthens us to do and be good and to serve beyond our own individual desire and natural capacity." (Elder David A. Bednar, The Atonement and the Journey of Mortality, Liahona, April 2012) http://www.lds.org/liahona/2012/04/the-atonement-and-the-journey-of-mortality?lang=eng

Repentance is there to make it possible for us to have complete happiness.

“The invitation to repent is rarely a voice of chastisement but rather a loving appeal to turn around and to ‘re-turn’ toward God. It is the beckoning of a loving Father and His Only Begotten Son to be more than we are, to reach up to a higher way of life, to change, and to feel the happiness of keeping the commandments.”
(Elder Neil L. Andersen,  Repent That I May Heal You, General Conference, Oct. 2010) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2009/10/repent-that-i-may-heal-you?lang=eng

Our own Disobedience can lead to trials but the Atonement can bring us back to the path.

"Recently . . . I encountered a large temporary sign declaring Rough Road Ahead, and indeed it was. Had I not been warned, that experience would have been disastrous. Life is like that. It's full of rough spots. Some are tests to make us stronger. Others result from our own disobedience. . . . Each one of us encounters unique challenges meant for growth". (Elder Richard G. Scott, Finding Forgiveness, New Era, Mar 2010) http://www.lds.org/new-era/2010/03/finding-forgiveness?lang=eng

The atonement is for everyone to partake of.

“The truth is that we all need repentance. If we are capable of reason and past the age of eight, we all need the cleansing that comes through applying the full effects of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.”
( Elder Henry B. Eyring, Do Not Delay, Ensign, Nov. 1999) http://www.lds.org/ensign/1999/11/do-not-delay?lang=eng

Repentance allows us to be with our Heavenly Father again.

“Each of us has made mistakes, large or small, which if unresolved will keep us from the presence of God. For this reason, the atonement of Jesus Christ is the single most significant event that ever has or ever will occur. This selfless act of infinite consequence, performed by a single glorified personage, has eternal impact in the life of every son and daughter of our Father in Heaven—without exception.” (Elder Richard G. Scott, Finding Forgiveness, New Era, Mar 2010) http://www.lds.org/new-era/2010/03/finding-forgiveness?lang=eng

Quotes on Receiving Personal Revelation:

The Holy Ghost leads us in all that we do.

"It is through the promptings of the Holy Ghost that we can be brought safely back onto the right path, and it is the atoning sacrifice of the Savior that can return us home". (Elder M. Russell Ballard,That the Lost May be Found, General Conference, April 2012) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/04/that-the-lost-may-be-found?lang=eng

This quote explains the importance of prayer.

"One of the great lessons that each of us needs to learn is to ask. Why does the Lord want us to pray to Him and to ask? Because that is how revelation is received".( Elder Richard G. Scott, How to Obtain Personal Revelation and Inspiration for your Personal Life, General Conference, April 2012) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/04/how-to-obtain-revelation-and-inspiration-for-your-personal-life?lang=eng

This quote helps me realize that anger will thwart the promptings of the Holy Ghost.

"Yielding to emotions such as anger or hurt or defensiveness will drive away the Holy Ghost. Those emotions must be eliminated, or our chance for receiving revelation is slight". ( Elder Richard G. Scott, How to Obtain Personal Revelation and Inspiration for your Personal Life, General Conference, April 2012) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/04/how-to-obtain-revelation-and-inspiration-for-your-personal-life?lang=eng
Pride and personal revelation cannot dwell together.

"For spirituality to grow stronger and more available, it must be planted in a righteous environment. Haughtiness, pride, and conceit are like stony ground that will never produce spiritual fruit".

These are the signs that you have felt the prompting of the Holy Ghost.

"Two indicators that a feeling or prompting comes from God are that it produces peace in your heart and a quiet, warm feeling".

These area also signs that the Holy Ghost is prompting you.

"Revelation or inspiration comes by means of words or thoughts communicated to the mind, by sudden enlightenment, by positive or negative feelings about proposed courses of action, or even by inspiring performances, as in the performing arts".  (Elder Dallin H.Oaks, Eight Ways God Can Speak to You, New Era, Sept. 2004) http://www.lds.org/new-era/2004/09/eight-ways-god-can-speak-to-you?lang=eng

Even though we have the gift of the Holy Ghost, we don't always get the answers that we want.

"We do not always receive inspiration or revelation when we request it. Sometimes we are delayed in the receipt of revelation, and sometimes we are left to our own judgment. We cannot force spiritual things. It must be so. Our life’s purpose to obtain experience and to develop faith would be frustrated if our Heavenly Father directed us in every act, even in every important act. We must make decisions and experience the consequences in order to develop self-reliance and faith". (Elder Dallin H.Oaks, Eight Ways God Can Speak to You, New Era, Sept. 2004) http://www.lds.org/new-era/2004/09/eight-ways-god-can-speak-to-you?lang=eng
There are times that we have to make choices on our own.

"Even in decisions we think very important, we sometimes receive no answer to our prayers. This does not mean that our prayers have not been heard. It means only that we have prayed about a decision that, for one reason or another, we should make without guidance by revelation. Perhaps we have asked for guidance in choosing between alternatives that are equally acceptable or equally unacceptable". (Elder Dallin H.Oaks, Eight Ways God Can Speak to You, New Era, Sept. 2004) http://www.lds.org/new-era/2004/09/eight-ways-god-can-speak-to-you?lang=eng

Faith must be present in order to receive revelation.

"We cannot know what faith is if we have never had it, and we cannot obtain it as long as we deny it. Faith and doubt cannot exist in the same mind at the same time, for one will dispel the other". (President Thomas S. Monson, Come unto Him in Prayer and Faith, Ensign, March 2009) http://www.lds.org/liahona/2009/03/come-unto-him-in-prayer-and-faith?lang=eng

The more times that we are able to feel the spirit, the more our faith will grow.

"I witness that as you gain experience and success in being guided by the Spirit, your confidence in the impressions you feel can become more certain than your dependence on what you see or hear". (Elder Richard G. Scott , To Acquire Spiritual Guidance, General Conference, Oct. 2009) http://www.lds.org/service/teaching-the-gospel/video-gallery?lang=eng
Quotes on Marriage:

The blessing of the temple can help to strengthen a marriage.

"Those who understand the eternal blessings which come from the temple know that no sacrifice is too great, no price too heavy, no struggle too difficult in order to receive those blessings.” President Thomas S. Monson, The Holy Temple, General Conference, April 2012) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2011/04/the-holy-temple-a-beacon-to-the-world?lang=eng

The ultimate goal of having a happy family, starts with a strong marriage.

"The ultimate end of all activity in the Church is to see a husband and his wife and their children happy at home, protected by the principles and laws of the gospel, sealed safely in the covenants of the everlasting priesthood. Husbands and wives should understand that their first calling—from which they will never be released—is to one another and then to their children". (Elder Boyd K. Packer,  And a Little Child Will Lead Them, General Conference, April 2012) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/04/and-a-little-child-shall-lead-them?lang=eng

Great effort is required preserve a marriage.

"All should desire and seriously work to secure a marriage for eternity. Those who already have a temple marriage should do all they can to preserve it". (Elder Dallin H. Oaks, Desire, General Conference, April 2011) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2011/04/desire?lang=eng

Strong marriages better communities.

"When couples marry and make commitments to each other, they greatly increase their chances of economic well-being. When children are born in wedlock and have both a mom and a dad, their opportunities and their likelihood of occupational success skyrocket. And when families work and play together, neighborhoods and communities flourish, economies improve, and less government and fewer costly safety nets are required". (Elder M. Russell Ballard, That the Lost May be Found, General Conference, April 2012) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/04/that-the-lost-may-be-found?lang=eng

I thought this quote could go with many subjects, but I felt that it fit best under marriage.

"We become what we want to be by consistently being what we want to become each day”. ( Elder Richard G. Scott,  The Transforming Power of Faith and Character, General Conference, October 2012) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2010/10/the-transforming-power-of-faith-and-character?lang=en
Material things do not bring happiness in life or in marriage.

"Material things do not of themselves produce happiness and satisfaction and the joy of attainment on earth. Nor do they lead us to exaltation. It is nobility of character, that fabric of inner strength and conviction woven from countless righteous decisions, that gives life its direction".( Elder Richard G. Scott, The Transforming Power of Faith and Character, General Conference, October 2010) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2010/10/the-transforming-power-of-faith-and-character?lang=en

Verbalizing things in marriage make all the difference.

"Express gratitude for what your spouse does for you.Express that love and gratitude often. That will make life far richer and more pleasant and purposeful. Don’t withhold those natural expressions of love". (Elder Richard G. Scott, The Eternal Blessings of Marriage, General Conference, April 2011) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2011/04/the-eternal-blessings-of-marriage?lang=eng

The blessing of the temple continue throughout you marriage.

"The temple sealing has greater meaning as life unfolds. It will help you draw ever closer together and find greater joy and fulfillment in mortality”. (Richard G. Scott, The Eternal Blessings of Marriage, General Conference, April 2011) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2011/04/the-eternal-blessings-of-marriage?lang=eng

Righteous love helps develop good children.

" Pure love is an incomparable, potent power for good. Righteous love is the foundation of a successful marriage. It is the primary cause of contented, well-developed children".(Elder Richard G. Scott, The Eternal Blessings of Marriage, General Conference, April 2011) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2011/04/the-eternal-blessings-of-marriage?lang=eng

Patience is an importance virtue to have in marriage.

"Husbands and wives deal with their imperfections best with patience and a sense of humor. Each should stand ready to say, “I’m sorry! Please forgive me.” And each should be a peacemaker". (Elder Russell M. Nelson ,The Doctrinal Importance of Marriage, General Conference, April 2010) http://www.lds.org/broadcasts/article/worldwide-leadership-training/2012/01/the-doctrinal-importance-of-marriage-and-children?lang=eng

This quote shares what you need to to in order to have a successful marriage.

"Marriage is sanctified by family prayer morning and night and daily scripture study. Marriage is stabilized by careful financial planning, avoiding debt, and living within a budget with willing obedience to the Lord’s law of tithing. Marriage is energized by making prime time together. Marriage is protected by an absolute commitment to make it successful". (Elder Russell M. Nelson, The Doctrinal Importance of Marriage, General Conference, April 2010)http://www.lds.org/broadcasts/article/worldwide-leadership-training/2012/01/the-doctrinal-importance-of-marriage-and-children?lang=eng

Quotes on Family:

This is a great quote about the ultimate goal of families.

"The ultimate end of all activity in the Church is to see a husband and his wife and their children happy at home, protected by the principles and laws of the gospel, sealed safely in the covenants of the everlasting priesthood. Husbands and wives should understand that their first calling—from which they will never be released—is to one another and then to their children".( Elder Boyd K. Packer,  And a Little Child Will Lead Them, General Conference, April 2012) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/04/and-a-little-child-shall-lead-them?lang=eng

Time with family is truly important.

"Family time is sacred time and should be protected and respected. We urge our members to show devotion to their families". (Elder Boyd K. Packer, And a Little Child Will Lead Them, General Conference, April 2012) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/04/and-a-little-child-shall-lead-them?lang=eng

Children help us to see the purposes of life.

"Fathers and mothers, next time you cradle a newborn child in your arms, you can have an inner vision of the mysteries and purposes of life. You will better understand why the Church is as it is and why the family is the basic organization in time and in eternity". (Elder Boyd K. Packer, And a Little Child Will Lead Them, General Conference, April 2012) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/04/and-a-little-child-shall-lead-them?lang=eng

This is a good quote about how to help our children steer from unrighteousness.

"Parents now are concerned about the moral and spiritual diseases. These can have terrible complications when standards and values are abandoned. We must all take protective measures".(Elder Boyd K , Do not Fear, General Conference, April 2004) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2004/04/do-not-fear?lang=eng

Making Memories is an important part of family life.

"I learned something else about memories on a recent trip to the Netherlands. The mission president's wife, in one of our gatherings, was telling about her instructions to the missionaries in which she used two statements: "I wish I had" and "I'm glad I did." So this evening I come to you with a question about eternal memories you are building in your lives. Are they followed by the comment "I wish I had ," or can you say, "I'm glad I did"? (Elder L. Tom Perry, Making Memories, Ensign, Aug 1993) http://www.lds.org/ensign/1993/08/making-memories?lang=eng

Each day is a new day and is a day to strive to do more with our families.

"We all make daily entries in our book of life. Occasionally we take it from the shelf and examine the entries we are making. What kind of memories will flood your mind as you examine the pages of your personal entries? How many pages will contain "I-wish-I-had" entries? Will there be entries of procrastination and failure to take advantage of special opportunities? Will you find there entries of thoughtlessness in treatment of family, friends, or even strangers? Will there be those of remorse resulting from acts of unrighteousness and disobedience? Will there be acts of dishonesty and lack of trust? Will there be entries showing a lack of faith and a turning to the destructive powers of worldliness”? Fortunately, each day brings a clean, white page on which to change entries from "I wish I had" to "I'm glad I did" through the process of recognition, remorse, repentance, and restitution. The harder we try to make many "I'm-glad-I-did" entries each hour of each day, the more "I-wish-I-had" marks will find their way into the corners of our minds. Feelings of depression for past acts or missed opportunities will be outshone by memory banks filled with exhilaration and enthusiasm and with the joy of living". (Elder L. Tom Perry, Making Memories,Ensign, Aug 1993) http://www.lds.org/ensign/1993/08/making-memories?lang=eng

Organization in our lives including how we teach our children, is key.

"Organize your personal lives to provide time for prayer and scriptures and family activity. Give your children responsibilities in the home that will teach them how to work. Teach them that living the gospel will lead them away from the filth, promiscuity, and violence of the Internet, media, and video games. They will not be lost, and they will be prepared to handle responsibility when it is thrust upon them.( Elder M. Russel Ballard, That the lost may be found, General Conference, April 2012) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/04/that-the-lost-may-be-found?lang=eng

Elder Ballard's kind words about mothers.

Speaking about mothers: “No other person on earth loves you in the same way or is willing to sacrifice as much to encourage you and help you find happiness—in this life and forever”. (Elder M. Russell Ballard, Mothers and Daughters, General Conference, April 2010)http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2010/04/mothers-and-daughters?lang=eng

A mothers example shapes her children.

"Mothers, your example is extremely important to your daughters—even if they don’t acknowledge it". (Elder M. Russell Ballard, Mothers and Daughters, General Conference, April 2010) http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2010/04/mothers-and-daughters?lang=eng

Prayer helps make a home happy.

"A happy home is but an earlier heaven. President George Albert Smith asked, '[Do] we want our homes to be happy[?] If we do, let them be the abiding place of prayer, thanksgiving and gratitude' (Conference Report, Apr. 1944, 32)". (Elder Thomas S. Monson, "Precious Children, a Gift from God," Ensign, June 2000, 5
